S.C.V.'s Dark Heresy Mission Details

Post by SCV2400 on Sat Jan 16, 2010 4:22 am

From the Desk of Inquisitor Gregory Gerth
OPERATION: SPACE
Mission Details:
Congratulations on your last mission. With permission from your Inquisitor, you can now help me with an interesting matter. A Space Hulk has appeared in the Frodian planetary system. It has seemed to have been inactive since it has arrived. We have taken necessary precautions and an Imperial Naval fleet is on its way and should arrive about the time you get here. You are to lead three teams of storm troopers and a techpriest with servitors into the Space Hulk. You are to salvage what you can from the Hulk and report back on anything you may find. Ships have surveyed the outside of the ship for entry points for your team and it appears that one of the Hulk’s propulsion systems may be able to move the entire thing, but we are not fully sure of this. If it is possible, we would like you to oversee the repair of the engines if needed so that we can do further salvage work in a shipyard. There is a possibility that some heretical enemy to the Imperium may be lurking on the ship so do your best to secure it at all costs. Once you have entered the system contact us that you are here. You will then transfer over to the boarding ships and begin your mission good luck.

appropriate for a mission where we don't have a techpriest.

Don't worry about that, I put one in because I knew this fact. He is coming with the Stormtroopers unless we somehow end up with one in the party.

It's better if we have a techpriest NPC anyway. Chase would probably cause more damage to the engines if he tried to fix them. (No offense...but it's true. Your character tends to make the things he tries to fix worse...both people and machines.)

Oh, that's just how I keep track of how many times I've upgraded it, instead of writing it down separately somewhere.

I'm probably going to be a techpriest instead for various reasons. Since I am far more competent than Chase, who wants me to upgrade their weapons and/or armour?

Eventually, (Not sure about money for it right now), I'd be interested in a custom-made, though relatively simple piece of equipment, basically a 360-degree motion sensor, that would see behind me and also help somewhat with perception (of movements only, and only of large things, maybe half the size of humans or better). This would not have any precision, and would be largely to make sure I don't get jumped...I'd still need to turn and look at an enemy behind me if I wanted any more than basic position. Definately not another set of eyes, and quality is not that important.
Since this basically sucks compared to an optical mechanendrite, I think half the price of an optical one is fair, which comes out to 200.

On second thought, if I can find a psychic power that does roughly ^that I would be satisfied...I will look for somehitng along those lines.
